The primary responsibilities will be directed toward advancing research efforts focused on neuromuscular diseases, including but not limited to areas such as genetic models of neuromuscular disorders, protein misfolding and aggregation, and mechanisms of disease progression. This position will support ongoing laboratory-based research programs and contribute to the development of innovative approaches to understanding and treating pediatric neurological conditions. The faculty role also includes opportunities for program development and education, including teaching and supervision of trainees and future leaders in Pediatric Neurology. The Division of Pediatric Neurology is composed of a multidisciplinary team of faculty, researchers, and clinical staff dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, and education. The division maintains active research programs and participates in collaborative, translational, and clinical research initiatives across the institution. offers inpatient and outpatient services across its Russell Campus on Birmingham's historic Southside, with additional outpatient services provided at Children's South and Children's on 3rd. Primary care is provided at multiple locations across central Alabama. Children's of Alabama is the only medical center in Alabama dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children. It is a not-for-profit medical center and serves as the primary site for the University of Alabama at Birmingham's pediatric medicine, surgery, research, and residency programs.
