Diabetology Fellowship

  • Hoag Health The Hoag Diabetology Fellowship in Newport Beach, California, is the first program of its kind in Southern California, offering immersive, hands-on training in advanced diabetes technologies, complex patient care, and innovative treatment models
  • all within Orange County's leading healthcare system.
This one-year program, recognized by the American College of Diabetology, is led by Program Director David Ahn, MD, alongside a distinguished faculty known for their excellence in diabetes management, cutting-edge research, and medical education. Program Highlights Balanced outpatient and inpatient clinical experience Advanced training in GCM's, insulin pumps, and emerging therapies Certification in implantable Eversense GCM procedures Clinical research and quality improvement opportunities Faculty mentorship Personalized, career-focused training tracks: outpatient, inpatient, cardiometabolic integration, population health/QI Graduates are eligible to sit for the American College of Diabetology (ACD) Board Examination Graduates would be equipped not just to treat diabetes
  • but to lead, innovate, and elevate diabetes care.
Eligibility Applicants must have completed an ACGME Accredited Internal Medicine Residency and be board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine. Applicants must be eligible to obtain an unrestricted California medical license prior to the beginning of fellowship training. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time. Salary & Benefits A competitive PGY4 level salary plus housing and educational stipends.
