Job Description

Position Summary Visionary Eye Doctors is seeking a highly experienced ophthalmic technician or ophthalmic scribe interested in transitioning into a long-term career opportunity in clinical research within ophthalmology. This position is intended for a strong ophthalmic professional with an excellent clinical foundation who is interested in expanding beyond a traditional clinic-only role. Prior clinical research experience is not required. The selected candidate will receive in-house training in clinical research coordination responsibilities over time. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working closely with physicians and patients in a fast-paced ophthalmology environment. This role will support both clinical and research-related operations and is intended for someone interested in long-term professional growth within ophthalmology clinical research. This is a fully in-person position. Candidates must reside in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, or Pennsylvania to be considered.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting physicians and clinical staff in a high-volume ophthalmology setting Coordinating patient scheduling and visit flow for research-related appointments Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation Assisting with administrative and operational research tasks Supporting study-related patient communication and coordination Learning clinical research workflows, regulatory requirements, and study coordination responsibilities Assisting with data entry and research documentation over time Collaborating closely with physicians, leadership, and research staff
Qualifications:
Strong ophthalmology experience required Prior experience as an ophthalmic technician or ophthalmic scribe strongly preferred COA/COT certification preferred, but not required Strong organizational and communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment Interest in long-term professional growth within ophthalmology clinical research Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
