Full Time (30 Hours or More) Job Requirements and Properties Work Onsite Full Time Schedule Full Time Job Description . Overview The Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC), Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth Health are seeking to jointly recruit junior faculty dedicated to pursuing careers in cancer research. Physician-scientists and clinician-investigators/clinical trialists from all clinical specialties who are pursuing basic, translational, or clinical cancer research with a strong engineering, technology, and/or computational component are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be appointed as Assistant or Associate Professors in the appropriate department at Dartmouth and become full DCC members. Protected time for research and generous start-up packages will be provided. Members of DCC's Translational Engineering in Cancer (TEC) research program work to accelerate the development and translation of practice-changing imaging and engineering technologies for the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and therapeutic monitoring of cancers. Current TEC investigators conduct research aligned with one of three primary program themes: 1) Surgical Image Guidance; 2) Radiation Monitoring and Treatment; 3) Cellular/Molecular Sensing and Contrast. TEC members benefit from Dartmouth's highly entrepreneurial ecosystem as well as deep integration and synergy between Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering, Geisel School of Medicine and Dartmouth Health. Recent TEC program accomplishments include the launch of DoseOptics and CairnSurgical, and a large DOD grant supporting advancement of fluorescence-guided cancer surgery. As one of only 57 NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers and the only one north of Boston and east of Buffalo, DCC benefits from deep integration across the entirety of both Dartmouth and Dartmouth Health. With the successful renewal of its NCI designation in 2024, DCC is now poised to enter its second half-century of continuous NCI designation. In addition to a robust clinical trials enterprise, DCC hosts four vibrantNCI-funded Research Programs:
Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy (ICI), Cancer Signaling, Genomes and Networks (SGN), Translational Engineering in Cancer (TEC) and Cancer Population Sciences (CPS).
