Job Title:
Clinical Research Nurse Job Description The primary purpose of the Clinical Research Nurse is to ensure the successful, patient-oriented, safe, and effective conduct of clinical trials. This role involves assisting investigators in the preparation and implementation of new clinical trials, screening and enrolling study participants, and providing protocol-related clinical management to participants while on study. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Protocol Activation office to initiate and activate new clinical trial protocols. Prepare and review study tools such as study binders, medication diaries, and eligibility checklists. Verify Scientific Review Board (SRB), Institutional Review Board (IRB), data collection plans, and finance/contract approvals prior to study activation. Review protocols to identify potential obstacles and resolve them in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. Provide nursing education related to protocols to facilitate safe and effective patient care. Translate finalized protocol treatment plans into sample orders. Collaborate with the clinical research team for timely prescreening of potential subjects. Review patient charts to confirm protocol eligibility and obtain necessary source documents. Ensure informed consent is obtained and documented according to IRB, GCP, and institutional policies. Register consented research patients with study sponsors and input data into the clinical trials database. Coordinate patient reimbursement and manage oncology nursing care in collaboration with clinical teams. Ensure protocol-specific orders are accurately executed, including scheduling tests and appointments. Maintain research records and ensure adherence to Institutional, State, and Federal regulations. Complete adverse event forms and ensure accurate completion of follow-up reports. Assist in resolving database queries and complete Case Report Forms (CRFs) as needed. Essential Skills Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. One (1) year of oncology experience required. Three (3) to five (5) years of oncology research experience preferred. Maintains active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN) preferred. Association of Clinical Research Professional as a Clinical Research Analyst (CRA) or Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Proficient in computer applications such as Word and Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maximize resources and be resourceful. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Livingston, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $63.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
