81 Position Overview

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Promotes the professional development of clinical staff. Assesses research learning needs. Functions as a role model for evidence-based practice and research. Assists in the identification and implementation of clinical research opportunities at CH. Coordinates system-wide education on research activities. Assists colleagues in preparation of accurate abstracts and manuscripts. Provides communication channels for dissemination of research. Supports organizational shared governance structure. Chairs the Research and EBP Committee. Participates in shared governance meetings, as needed. Demonstrates effective teaching skills and uses a variety of instructional methods/teaching strategies. Disseminates effectively information about relevant learning offerings within and outside CH. Exercises discretion and judgement to promote clinical research as a strategic initiative of the nursing division. Identifies research priorities in conjunction with departmental leadership. Promotes the application of research activities toward evidence-based practice. Mentors colleagues in research activities. Participates in IRB activities both as a member and in preparing protocols for IRB review. Mentors in publishing and presenting findings from research studies timely and accurately. Demonstrates ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and mentors staff in statistical analyses. Acquires research grants to expand the clinical research program. Supports clinical graduate and doctoral level students in completion of projects. Serves as mentor to doctoral level students. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education :

Masters degree. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience:

Five years of acute care experience and two years of research experience. CITI training.

Excellent mentoring skills, public speaking, highly motivated, creative individual. Possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
