Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics at the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank/OpenTrack faculty for a full-time position within the Division of Hematology/Oncology . The Department of Pediatrics is amulti-specialty group of greater than 100 faculty at New Mexico's onlypediatric tertiary care facility. The Children's Hospital of New Mexico is anintegral part of the University of New Mexico Health Science Center, the State'spremier medical, educational and research institution. Final Rank,salary, and tenure will bebased on prior training and experience. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology service offers complete clinical care servicesfor infants, children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders. Theservice currently sees 80 new oncology patients per year at the Children'sHospital and affiliated clinics. The Division is an activeparticipant in COG with the support of a strong research team. The division housesa nationally funded hemophilia program, a survivorship program, and a vascularanomalies program. Our Oncology service collaborates with the UNM CancerCenter, the only National Cancer Institute(NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the state and one of only 40 inthe nation. The incumbent should have excellent interpersonal andclinical care skills and have a strong interest in participating in theeducation of medical students and pediatric residents.
