FullTime Department BSD PHS - Chiu Lab About the Department Public Health Sciences (PHS) is the home for the core quantitative research fields in public health: biostatistics, epidemiology and health services research. Our faculty both lead research projects in these fields and participate in interdisciplinary teams with faculty in other departments to address complex problems in health and healthcare, in our communities and around the globe. Our mission is to improve the health of human populations and reduce differences in health by expanding knowledge of factors that affect health, by advancing differences in health methods for carrying out such research, and by training the next generation of innovative public health scholars and professionals. Job Summary The Clinical Sr. Research Assistant will oversee key aspects of clinical research studies, including subject recruitment, data collection, and the development and maintenance of databases. The role also involves data analysis to interpret findings and contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication. The Clinical Research Assistant will manage day-to-day project tasks, ensuring timelines are met and study protocols are followed. The Clinical Research Assistant will work closely with the PI and research teams to maintain high standards of quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to support both the scientific and operational aspects of research. This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by extramural funds (e.g., grant, gift, endowment) which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor. Your employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these extramural funds and your satisfactory job performance. If this position is eliminated due to the discontinuation of extramural funding, you will be given a minimum of one pay period's written notice (2 weeks) or pay in-lieu of notice. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored employment authorization. Responsibilities Develops epidemiology questionnaires and study protocols. Builds and maintains databases using REDCap. IRB preparation. Subject recruitment and data collection. Reviews and collects clinical and laboratory results from EPIC. Performs data analysis for progress report. Contributes to the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication. Provides general administrative support (e.g., literature reviews, study reports, etc.). Performs all tasks in basic clinical studies. Assists with and performs various administrative and operational tasks as assigned under direct supervision. Supports quality assurance reviews conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated review groups. Acquires and applies knowledge of clinical studies to collect analyzable clinical research data and/or samples. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum QualificationsEducation:
