Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Dermatology, is seeking a Manager-Clinical Research Administration. General Responsibilities To act as a subject matter expert (SME) for faculty and staff regarding administrative duties for industry and sponsored clinical research. To serve as a referral resource for the clinical research community at UAB. To manage and maintain the study s compliance with institutional requirements. To manage division-wide training in ethical conduct of research. To manage, assess and determine solutions for operational shortcomings of protocols. To provide human resources oversight for subordinate personnel. Key Duties & Responsibilities Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for faculty and staff regarding administrative duties for industry and sponsored clinical research. Serves as a referral resource for the clinical research community at UAB. Manages and maintains the study's compliance with institutional requirements. Manages division-wide training in ethical conduct of research. Manages, assesses, and determines solutions for operational shortcomings of protocols. Manages and determines operational elements needed for conduct of clinical studies. Manages and assists colleagues in identifying efficiencies and improving process. Provides human resource oversight for subordinate personnel. Trains staff in various work responsibilities. Contributes to strategic planning across the institution. Presents on a variety of topics relative to clinical research to convey knowledge as appropriate. Maintains currency in the field through cross-training, continuing education, literature, and seminars in order to implement this knowledge into the department. Performs other duties as assigned.
