Duties Help As an Environmental Protection Specialist the full performance level, you will: Be responsible for the implemention of Hazardous and Toxic Merial management program for assigned geographic area. Ensure the program complies with Federal (e.g. Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA); Resource Conservion and Recovery Act (RCRA); Clean Air Act; Clean Wer Act and ste laws. Investige and prepare reports for ste or other Federal agencies regarding various environmental incidents and ensure th procedures for spill clean-up meet applicable standards. Maintain a familiarity with the various chemical/products used in assigned geographic area. Utilize technical references to determine wh environmental hazards are associed with their use. Coordine implemention of specific environmental programs reled to groundwer protection, waste minimizion, pollution prevention awareness, environmental monitoring, and quality assurance. Be responsible for inspecting facilities for compliance with Federal and Ste Environmental laws and regulions. This includes arranging for the collection and testing of facility soil and other samples for assessment purposes. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or Nional. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: For the GS-11 level , you must have least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-09] in the Federal service in the following: Participing in hazardous and toxic merial program. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level gradue educion leading to such a degree or LL.M., if reled.OR Combinion:
A combinion of higher level educion and specialized experience th together meet the qualificions for this position. For the GS-12 level , you must have least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-11] in the Federal service in all the following: Managing hazardous and toxic merial program. Administering an environmental compliance inspection program. Providing guidance and technical assistance to other employees. Preparing for and responding to environmental emergencies and/or incidents. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through Nional Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizions. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience th transles directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade :
Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).Note:
