Professionals General Summary:
Performs and may coordinate a variety of advanced professional-level research, analytical, and administrative duties and studies of moderate complexity related to the business, technological, and operational activities of assigned functions, operations, programs, department, and/or division. Analyzes company functions, processes, and activities to improve business applications for the most effective use of money, materials, equipment and people. Assists in identifying and resolving operational and administration issues; observes, gathers, compiles, verifies, analyzes, and correlates pertinent information, facts, and data; identifies alternative solutions or sound conclusions; and makes and assists in the implementation of recommendations. May supervise technical and administrative staff.
Tasks may include:
Develop and coordinate the implementation of department processes, special projects, and studies, including conducting surveys and performing research and analysis on operational issues Prepare complex reports, requests for proposals, manuals, memorandum and correspondence relating to departmental operations, systems, procedures and programs Independently perform the full range of responsible and difficult analytical and administrative work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative Develop and administer new programs, policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance Develop, interpret and communicate rules, standards and procedures Review and analyzes information, documents, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures Participate in special projects including research of new programs and services to include budget analysis and preparation, feasibility analysis, and coordination of funding sources Identify areas of need and improvement and recommends alternative solutions to management as to courses of action that best meet the organization's goals. Represent the City to community groups, outside agencies, and professional organizations as required Confer with departmental officials on operating practices and problems Assist in training, supervising and evaluation staff Assist in budget development and administer assigned budgets as requested The duties listed above are not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may also perform other related duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor. This position is considered exempt.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public or Business Administration or related field. Five (5) years of experience in associated field
