The Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for an Environmental Scientist. The position location is 895 Aerovista Place, Suite 101, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. Join the Central Coast Water Board and help protect the Central Coast's ocean, bays, wetlands, and creeks. The position involves applying environmental and watershed science in the Central Coast Water Board's Clean Water Act Section 401 Water Quality Certification Program. This position will focus on ensuring that development, infrastructure, transportation, and other projects are designed to accommodate and protect the Central Coast's valuable waterbodies and watersheds. The position will also involve addressing climate change adaptation.
Duties:
The Environmental Scientist is responsible for evaluating potential threats to water quality due to activities in waters of the state and implementing appropriate regulatory actions. The Environmental Scientist works independently, communicates effectively, and manages multiple tasks. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class. If the position requires driving, you must possess a current and valid driver's license.
