Job DescriptionThe Analyst I prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to approved scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs).This position can be physical job that may require standing for long periods, working with organic solvents, laboratory glassware and specialized equipment.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs.
These include:
Preparation of samples using standard techniquesPerforming chemical analysis using standard techniquesEvaluation and quantification of dataRecording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerforming routine instrument maintenanceCompetency on complex instrumentation instrument specific software (training is provided)Responsible for keeping personal training documentation (training records, IDOC/DOC) current and accurateResponsible for timely completion of assigned/scheduled QC samples (MDL, LOD/LOQ, PT)As required, documents NCMs for projects with quality issuesUnderstands and utilizes backlog reports to manage personal workload.

Works under close supervision using routine and standard methodsRegular attendance and punctualityResponsible for general housekeeping in work areaProficient, with IDOCs, for a minimum for 50% of methods carried out in the departmentResponsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing environmental, health and safety and quality assurance standardsDemonstrates and promotes the company visionOther duties as assignedQualificationsBS or BA in chemistry or related field. 3 years laboratory experience may substitute for degree.

EPA method D1633, 537.1 or 533 experience would be beneficialLaboratory experience helpfulPrevious production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in

Work schedule: Must be able to work Sunday•Thursday, 7:00 PM•3:30 AM (eligible for a $1.75 shift differential when working this shift)Overtime and weekends may be required.
