$ 41/hr - 46.50/hr Staff Project Construction Permitting Specialist The Planet Group is seeking a Construction Permitting Specialist to support the acquisition of Right-of-Way, Access, Right-of-Entry, and Encroachment Permits for overhead and underground transmission and distribution projects. This role involves coordinating with multiple jurisdictions and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant permit approvals. Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 4 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects Required or Master Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and min 3 years performing environmental and permitting studies, preparing permitting applications and analyzing environmental data for various environmental impact projects Required. Key Responsibilities Research & Analysis Conduct desktop reviews of project plans and identify applicable federal, state, and local permitting requirements Research and interpret permit requirements for agencies such as Departments of Transportation, railroads, and local municipalities Identify required permits, including utility installation permits, temporary construction entrance permits, and railroad encroachment permits Documentation & Permitting Prepare and assemble construction permit packages for internal review Submit permit applications to relevant jurisdictions and track progress through approval Coordinate approvals for access, road crossings, and right-of-way occupancy Maintain and update project data within ArcGIS Online (AGO), including permit status and spatial information Participate in field visits and site reviews to gather data and assess constructability Support change management by tracking and documenting updates to construction plans Collaborate with civil, foundation, line, and restoration teams to gather required project details Support the Project Manager with stakeholder meetings and communications Assist with permit closeout and documentation upon project completion
