The Environmental Specialist role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy work environment at the Center for Family and Child Enrichment. This position is responsible for providing full-time janitorial services to administrative offices, ensuring all spaces are consistently cleaned, sanitized, and well-maintained in accordance with established health and safety standards. Functions Include:
Perform daily cleaning and janitorial services for administrative office spaces, including offices, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect assigned areas on a regular schedule Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces to maintain a safe and healthy work environment Empty trash and recycling receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other restroom and office essentials Monitor facility cleanliness and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or repair needs to appropriate personnel Assist with setup and cleanup for meetings, events, and office relocations as needed Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring proper use, storage, and inventory levels Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and agency policies related to cleaning chemicals and equipment use Support a clean, organized, and professional office environment aligned with the organization's mission Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous janitorial, custodial, or environmental services experience preferred Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, and sanitation practices Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and follow safety protocols Reliable transportation and ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality Ability to lift, carry, and move cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
