Opportunity :
The Environmental Specialist will support Environmental Compliance for Kokomo facilities (Air, Wastewater, RCRA/DOT, Stormwater compliance) and ensures compliance to all federal and state Environmental requirements. Qualifications ( R equired and P referred) :
Education :
High School Diploma or Equivalent (R); BS Environmental Sciences•Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical or Civil; Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Physical Science, or equivalent (P)
Experience:
1-5 Years Industrial Environmental Support (R), Regulatory Compliance in Environmental fields (P), Experience in a union environment (P), RCRA/DOT regulations (P), Waste Stream Experience (P), Air Permitting experience (P), ISO 1400 experience (P)
Areas of Knowledge:
Safety (R), Regulatory Reporting (R), Stormwater compliance R, Pollution Prevention (R), RCRA Reporting (R), Hazardous waste manifesting (R), Hazwoper (P), Compliance with Manufacturing Permits (P), Air Permitting Compliance (P), ISO 1400 experience (P)
Skills:
Communications (R), Computer expertise such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint (R), State of Indiana wastewater operator's license (P), Problem Solver (R), Auditing experience (R), Regulatory Compliance (R), Coordination of plant wide environmental tasks (R), Data Collection and Recordkeeping (R), Recycling Knowledge (P)
Role Responsibilities :
Effectively communicate and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; training requirements, enforcement of all Environmental policies while maintaining
ISO 14001
requirements Perform and coordinate detailed Environmental activities Assist EH&S team with Recordkeeping and Data entry Assist with Semi-Annual audits to ensure regulatory compliance Waste Management assistance•assist with waste profiling and sampling, record keeping and training Assist Wastewater treatment compliance and operations Assist with Stormwater inspections, sampling and documentation Environmental incident investigation and reporting Updating of environmental plans and site wide programs Serve as an environmental liaison to outside organizations Coordinate Air Permitting tasks•Stack Testing, Inspections and recertification Administrative work for all environmental tasks plant wide Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
