Job Description & Responsibilities:

Environmental Scientists are responsible for supporting environmental projects through fieldwork, data collection, laboratory coordination, and reporting. This role requires technical competence, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

• Complete OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operator (HAZWOPER) training and National Grid required training
• Maintain working knowledge of MCP, Remediation Regulations, NH DES, and Phase

I ESA ASTM

Standards, including client-specific requirements

• Conduct Phase I ESA site walkovers, due diligence research, and report preparation
• Oversee and direct fieldwork including test boring advancement, monitoring well installation, groundwater sample collection, groundwater surveys, and stockpile management
• Participate in the Emergency Response rotation and direct response activities, including communication with Senior Project Manager, safety briefings, contractor coordination, field screening, documentation, and confirmatory sampling
• Discuss appropriate sample preparation and laboratory analytical techniques with Environmental Specialists or Project Managers based on site conditions and contaminants of concern
• Conduct sampling activities (soil, air, groundwater, surface water, building materials) and oversee subsurface drilling and remedial actions
• Respond to emergency releases of petroleum products, oversee underground storage tank removals, conduct hazardous building material assessments, and perform industrial hygiene/air monitoring
• Use field equipment for monitoring, screening, and sample collection; analyze data to determine next steps
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and team members
• Attend health and safety training sessions and obtain necessary certifications
• Perform equipment decontamination and maintain a clean and orderly laboratory
• Prepare deliverable reports, including preliminary

regulated submittals, and RARs

• Manage applicable project deadlines, provide weekly progress reports to Project Manager, and maintain awareness of project budgets when applicable
• Conduct training and mentorship for junior staff members
• Perform ancillary tasks as assigned to support project completion
• Maintain at least 38 billable hours per week

Qualifications/Certifications:

• 0-5 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or related field
• OSHA 40-Hour

training is a plus (training provided if needed)

• Flexibility to work on diverse projects, in various weather and terrains, with a positive attitude
