Job Description

Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC) One position is available. The Land Use and Environment (LUE) Department is seeking candidates for a Senior Planner II. Under general supervision, the Senior Planner II performs a wide variety of environmental planning tasks necessary to advance PVPC's mission of catalyzing regional progress. At the current time, much of the work of the Land Use and Environment Department is guided by the 2014 regional sustainability plan for the Pioneer Valley, titled Our Next Future. The LUE Department plans for a variety of the 43 communities in the Pioneer Valley region, including providing support to Conservation Commissions and other municipal boards. The Senior Planner II will focus on planning related to natural resources, including issues such as climate change and resilience, water, wetlands, land protection, and trees and forests, among others. The application deadline is Monday, September 14, 2026. We will begin interviewing candidates before the application deadline. The position will remain open until it has been filled, or the recruitment has been cancelled. The PVPC is a qualified employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program (PSLF).
