A Day in the Life As a Field Scientist - FTIR, you will perform in-field FTIR-based testing of a variety of emission sources while directly interacting with clientele. The Field Analyst must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a team atmosphere. This is an entry level position and reports directly to the Mt. Pleasant District Manager. The compensation range for this role is $23.50hr to $26.50hr. To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: Assist with performing in-lab FTIR sample analyses and building of calibrations Follow established testing methods, procedures, and processes to support consistent and reliable data validation and reporting Assist with data processing and report writing Perform advanced troubleshooting of analytical testing data and equipment; write up suggested next steps and corrective actions for field teams Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and participate in training to stay current with FTIR technology and regulatory shifts Perform in-field FTIR-based stack testing according to established procedures as needed Set up, operate, and maintain analytical testing equipment Participate in training for career development, safety and maintaining required certifications Your Expertise and Skills These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here. 0-3 years of professional experience in an analytical laboratory setting Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Bachelor's degree in science or engineering, chemistry preferred Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening Valid driver's license Ability to obtain a DOT medical certification and OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical Evaluation Flexibility is a must as the position may require weekend travel or work for a few projects during the year Capacity for overnight and local travel for multi-weekday projects Work Environment and Physical Requirements The physical and environmental requirements below reflect what's typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
