Omaha, NE The Environmental Analyst will actively engage in all activities related to environmental regulatory compliance for a diversified wholesale fertilizer distribution and manufacturing company. This includes executing compliance-related initiatives and maintaining new and existing programs and policies to ensure adherence to all Federal, State, and local environmental regulations. This role partners closely with operations, safety, and legal teams to proactively manage environmental compliance, the role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Core Compliance Tasks:
Manage environmental compliance activities. Support the preparation of air permit applications and determinations. Develop and implement stormwater pollution prevention plans. Compile and analyze annual air emissions inventory reports. Prepare and ensure timely submission of Tier II reports. Assist with Risk Management Plan (RMP) compliance. Provide facility-level assistance in managing waste generation. Create and update Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans.
Audits and Incident Management:
Participate in regulatory audits at fertilizer manufacturing and distribution locations to identify potential regulatory exposures and develop corrective action plans. Investigate, assist with, and review facility environmental incidents, ensuring thorough documentation and resolution.
Training and Representation:
Design, prepare, and deliver environmental-related training for facility locations. Assist in preparing environmental related content for monthly in-house meetings.
Program Development and Analysis:
Collaborate with senior peers to develop and manage an annual environmental budget. Prepare advanced documents, guidelines, and programs to ensure compliance with relevant environment laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Guidance and Technical Expertise:
Provide guidance and technical assistance to facility supervisors and managers in identifying, evaluating, and correcting EHS hazards. Conduct thorough root-cause analysis of environmental incidents and implement corrective actions. Monitor and optimize facility participation with EHS Management System tasks to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
B.S. engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred 3-5 years of related experience. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and formulate defensible positions. General knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ability to interpret and present a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to travel, approximately 25%

This is a full-time position based at our office in Omaha, NE, Monday through Friday. Relocation assistance is available.
