Job Opportunity CST is seeking an entry to mid-level Environmental Scientist as a Stack Testing Technician to support emissions testing projects on stationary sources within the energy and industrial sectors for private and government stakeholders. Role Characteristics This position is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors on a diverse range of projects, utilizing technical knowledge, instrumentation, and traveling regularly. Stack testing is suited to individuals who prefer not to be confined to a desk. This role involves frequent fieldwork, with overnight travel accounting for approximately 60% of the time, as well as overtime with the need for scheduling flexibility. On-site field testing is conducted in a mobile laboratory and involves the use of varied instrumentation, including NDIR, chemiluminescence, FID, and FTIR. Technicians are trained to become proficient in EPA sampling methods and quality assurance and control requirements. Adaptability, creative problem-solving, and strong mechanical aptitude are essential,as team members often encounter unique challenges that require innovative solutions.
