Located in Columbus, OH , the company operates out of the Andelyn Corporate Center (ACC) for clinical and commercial cGMP manufacturing of viral vectors and plasmids and the Andelyn Development Center (ADC) for preclinical non-cGMP activities. Our Values are founded in our origin story. The name "Andelyn" is a hybrid of two gene therapy patients who participated in pivotal Phase I clinical trials at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Andrew received the first U.S. investigational gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2006. Evelyn received experimental gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy in 2015. "Andelyn" combines their names to represent all the families who have courageously participated in the research that makes today's gene therapies possible. The Laboratory Services (LS) Specialist I - Laboratory Support (Scheduling) is an individual contributor role and coordinates the scheduling of activities in the GMP laboratory. This role will work in conjunction with LS and manufacturing management to ensure all testing and auxiliary activities are performed efficiently and on time. Schedule routine testing required during production (e.g., in-process testing, prepared solution testing). Schedule auxiliary laboratory tasks required to maintain an efficient, functional, and compliant laboratory (e.g., material, laboratory, and equipment management). Maintain records of scheduled laboratory tasks to support generation of departmental metrics. Maintain job board to ensure LS staff have visibility to assigned tasks on a day-to-day basis. Support LS project management and leadership in scheduling non-routine testing, release testing, and stability testing. Support LS project management in ensuring deadlines are met. Support LS leadership in cross-departmental communication. Support LS leadership with identifying areas for efficiency improvement. Support LS leadership and senior staff to cultivate and enact strategic direction of department. Perform in accordance with established policies and procedures. Make decisions based on established procedures. Learn and maintain working knowledge related to the tasks performed. Perform under general supervision of LS leadership and senior staff. Ability to perform with some independence based on applicable experience. Perform in a diverse and collaborative team environment utilizing clear communication to maintain efficiency and productivity. Identify problems and perform tasks as assigned. Exercise discretion, judgment, and personal responsibility. Demonstrate a high level of integrity. Maintain a positive attitude. Attention to detail in all job functions. Contribute to the success of the department, the company, and the associated goals. Nominal fiscal responsibility. Other duties as assigned. What you bring to the team. Must possess relevant four-year degree. Background in the life sciences, biotechnology, or gene therapy industries preferred. Prior experience in scheduling or laboratory coordination preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and adjust as priorities change. Must be literate in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Smartsheet. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive work environment. Experience in highly regulated field is preferred. Must possess a client-focused mindset in daily tasks. What you can expect when working at Andelyn.
