Full Job Description Overview:
Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Senior Environmental Licensing Air Specialist to join the team. In this role, you will bring your expertise to aid in interactions with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, help gather data during site visits, and stay updated on environmental regulations. You will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. This position can be based in the following locations: Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta) Oklahoma City, OK Naperville, IL (Suburb of Chicago) Overland Park, KS Ft. Worth, TX Plano, TX (Suburb of Dallas) This position may be based in additional office locations for the right candidate #LI-MB1
Responsibilities:
As an Environmental Licensing Air Specialist, you'll conduct comprehensive reviews to assess the impact of nuclear facilities on natural resources as well as prepare detailed reports, and support licensing applications. Your role will also involve developing and presenting complex information and occasionally traveling for fieldwork.
Environmental Impact Assessment & Compliance:
Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on air resources. Prepare environmental reports in accordance with NRC regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines. Support environmental licensing applications for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practices
Data Collection & Site Evaluation:
Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts. Support the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessments
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns. Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences. Prepare proposals and statements of qualification
Fieldwork & Environmental Protection:
Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures. Focus on air quality management including air regulatory compliance services such as MACT, NSPS, NESHAP, and air permitting NNSR/NSR, PSD, and PBRs. Perform air quality emissions evaluations, greenhouse gas, and annual emissions reporting
Technical Leadership:
Serve as mentor and trainer for junior staff in project management and technical performance of environmental compliance work
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field Minimum 6 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related field Working knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA, Clean Air Act, etc.) Experience working with federal or state regulatory agencies Experience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviews Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency using MS Excel Ability to travel/work in the field 5% of the time, with typical travel durations of 3-4 days (office work is typically 95% of the time for this position; fieldwork can include site visits and meetings with clients and applicable regulatory agencies)
Pay Range:
USD $86,400.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
