Job Summary:
Job Description We are seeking a Monitoring Restoration Technician II for a temporary, hourly, non-exempt, grant-funded position running June 15-September 15, 2026. The role supports watershed health through field-based monitoring, surveys, and data collection. The Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to environmental integrity, community engagement, and inclusive workplace practices. Job Duties ' Conduct perennial stream surveys in forest harvest areas ' Assist with restoration effectiveness monitoring, including AQI habitat surveys ' Assist with fish salvage at restoration project sites ' Collect GPS data and complete QA/QC of field data sheets ' Enter monitoring data into databases ' Safely operate tools and equipment for field tasks ' Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, board members, and partners ' Support team efforts with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach ' Perform duties safely in alignment with the Forestry Safety and Health Plan ' Other duties as assigned Requirements ' High school diploma ' 1 year of related field work experience ' Strong interpersonal and communication skills ' Excellent time management and teamwork skills ' Must be 18 or older ' Current driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle Preferred Qualifications ' 2+ years in forestry, environmental, biological, or natural resource fieldwork ' Coursework or degree in related natural resource fields ' Experience with
ODFW AQI
protocols and fish seining ' GIS, Microsoft Office, and GPS equipment skills Employer Notes - Qualifying candidates will possess the following: ' Ability to safely and effectively work independently in the field, without direct supervision ' Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally ' Ability to work independently and adhere to project timelines ' Ability to adjust to variable schedules including early mornings, long hours, and seasonal conditions (cold, heat, wind, wet, dry) ' Will lift 40 lbs and hike with a 25-lb backpack over uneven terrain up to 10 miles/day ' Will work safely around streams, rough terrain, and traffic ' Ability to use personal vehicle, including on forest service roads Hours Up to 40 hours/week, primarily in the field. Hours may vary seasonally and may include early mornings, extended days, or occasional weekends. Wages/Benefits Starting wage: $20.06/hr, depending on experience
