POSITION OVERVIEW
This role acts as a coach and advisor to the site & ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and company environmental regulations and requirements. It involves implementing and maintaining the site-level Environment & Safety Management System (ESMS), executing environmental programs, and developing, implementing, and administering company HSE policy and procedure to reinforce an environmental culture of responsibility. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Serve as the site technical advisor and lead resource for environmental regulatory compliance Implements, maintains, and assesses environmental standards and procedures in accordance with company ESMS requirements Ensures compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and permits, to include but not limited to the following: (Waste Water, Storm Water, Air, Hazardous Waste) Completes and submits all required environmental reports for the facility Assists in managing the environmental budget Provides strategic direction and prioritization to address environmental risk and loss during annual planning processes Manages regulatory aspects of process safety and ammonia refrigeration management program, including Risk Management programs as applicable Ensures the impact of regulatory changes on the facility are being managed Supports Corporate Sustainability initiatives as appropriate for the site Actively participates in change or project management to identify and address critical risk at the facility Identifies and evaluates environmental risk arising from new chemicals, products, and manufacturing changes Provides support to the site to address regulatory inspections and complaints Provides assistance in the analysis of significant incidents (fire, chemical releases, fatalities, severe or multiple injuries, etc.) and follow-up on corrective actions ensuring information is shared throughout the Company to prevent re-occurrence Reports company-required environmental and sustainability metrics at required frequencies in GSTEMS Maintains knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and potential changes that may impact the facility Support for plant Human Safety initiatives as assigned to improve compliance and drive culture
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher 3+ years of related experience Strong understanding of environmental regulatory compliance and reporting guidelines Ability to manage day-to-day environmental programs and permits Strong interpersonal, coaching, influencing, and project management skills Strong written and oral communication skills Proficient in computer software applications Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings Ability to thrive in an inclusive culture Ability to travel up to 10%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference for an OSHA / Environmental safety, biology, chemistry or science-based degree Knowledge and/or background in environmental permitting and EPA regulations Working knowledge of local NM, Bernalillo County and City of Albuquerque regulations Experience in food and beverage manufacturing or related field Experience in Human Safety management systems and Human Organizational Performance, Safety 2.0 ADDITIONAL
