We're seeking a motivated Sr. Environmental Scientist / Project Manager to join our growing Environmental Division. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both field work and project management, with responsibilities spanning industrial hygiene assessments, environmental monitoring, and remediation oversight. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience conducting air quality testing, exposure assessments, and hazardous material surveys, as well as familiarity with Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments and site remediation projects. You'll be managing multiple projects, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe and compliant operations from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and oversee industrial hygiene and environmental field programs, including air, vapor, dust, asbestos, and lead sampling. Conduct and interpret exposure monitoring and site assessments to evaluate health and safety risks. Support and manage aspects of remediation and construction oversight, including UST removals, soil and groundwater sampling, and vapor intrusion evaluations. Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and compliance documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations. Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget; manage subcontractors and coordinate field activities. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and MassDEP regulations. Maintain calibration logs, field notes, and chain of custody for all sampling events. Work closely with clients and internal teams to develop and implement site-specific Health & Safety Plans (HASPs) and corrective action strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or related field. 4 - 10 years of experience in industrial hygiene, environmental consulting, or remediation project management. OSHA 40-hour
HAZWOPER
certification (or willingness to obtain). Strong understanding of air monitoring equipment, sampling protocols, and exposure limits (OSHA, ACGIH, NIOSH). Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regional travel to field sites.
