You'll work alongside experienced landfill managers and operators to learn how we maintain compliance, efficiency, and safety at our facilities. What You'll Gain Practical experience in landfill operations and environmental compliance Exposure to site logistics, equipment management, and safety protocols Mentorship from experienced landfill managers and environmental professionals Insight into long-term career paths in operations and environmental services Up to a $5,000.00 bonuspaid out at the successful completion of your internship Housing assistanceas needed Responsibilities Assist with daily landfill operations including waste placement and compaction Support environmental monitoring and reporting activities Observe and help manage heavy equipment usage and maintenance Participate in safety meetings and compliance inspections Contribute to site improvement initiatives and operational efficiency projects Help track and document operational data and performance metrics Other duties as assigned Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Strong interest in operations, sustainability, and field-based work Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions Proficiency in Microsoft Office; GIS or environmental software experience is a plus Valid driver's license required Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
