This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to join our team in Bristol, VA. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who is technically oriented and who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
JOB PURPOSE
Administers the organization's environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the accurate submission of all required federal, state, and local environmental permits and related reports, including Title V, RCRA, DOT, and stormwater management requirements. Collect, maintain, and organize regulatory compliance records. Maintain throughput emissions data within the Environmental Management System (EMS). Monitor and evaluate pending legislation and regulatory changes to determine potential impacts on the company. Manage the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP). Assist the EHS Department with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) reviews for new materials. Coordinate hazardous waste pickups and maintain all required manifest documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Competencies, and Education Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered. Two (2) or more years of manufacturing environmental compliance preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the employee to perform the following physical activities, with or without reasonable accommodation: Occasional lifting, climbing, and stooping. Walking and standing for extended periods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires the employee to work effectively in an environment that includes: Office settings. Manufacturing facilities. Exposure to resins, fiberglass, and other chemicals.
