Under the supervision of the Manager of Environmental Services, the Environmental Services/Linen Training Coordinator (ESTC) is responsible for conducting the orientation, competencies, certifications, in-services, and continuing education for the Environmental Services and Linen departments at Porter Medical Center and Helen Porter Health & Rehabilitation, hereafter referred to as PMC. This includes the training and development in accordance with regulatory, network, and PMC policies, and performing administrative program duties. The ESTC fulfills their duties is expected to work collaboratively with the Department Manager, other departmental staff, providers, and patients/residents and adheres to all applicable policies, regulations, guidelines, standards and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the Manager of Environmental Services with the EVS and Laundry departmental orientation and training program which includes hands on training following a standardized regimen established by EVS and Laundry departments. Performs department specific Quality Assurance checks (e.g., Visual, ATP swabbing, Glow Gel) and other systems to ensure our facility is cleaned to PMC Environmental Services standards. May make (re) training recommendations to EVS Leadership. Perform annual competency evaluations of EVS technicians. Conducts on-site (re)certification classes and exams for front-line EVS and Laundry personnel. Assists the EVS director in maintaining an updated database demonstrating documentation of competency-based evaluations and Quality Assurance checks. Helps identify areas and make suggestions for improvement in quality, process, and cost efficiencies. Follow all Environmental Services, Linen, and Infection Control regulations regarding cleaning and disinfection of patient care, public, and private spaces. Works with Environmental Services Dept. leadership in the review and revision of policies and plans for the departments. Responsible for administrative functions pertaining to staff training and education including, but not limited to, new hire orientation records, in-services, competencies, filing of staff CEUs. Works with the Manager of Environmental Services to ensure staff are current on mandatory corporate compliance and other training assigned through the Network's electronic training platforms. Performs duties of Environmental Services and Laundry Services employees as the need arises. Flexibility in altering work schedule to meet departmental training and organizational needs. Other duties as assigned. This is a bargaining union position. University of Vermont Health•Porter Medical Center is located in the heart of beautiful Middlebury, Vermont. We are comprised of a 25-bed acute care facility, a 98-bed skilled nursing facility which includes a memory care unit, short-term rehabilitation unit and a long-term care unit, and a network of primary care and specialty medical practices throughout Addison County and the town of Brandon.
