Environmental Technician III

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform tests and/or measurement tasks for the Environmental department.

Environmental:

The branch of mechanics that deals with changes in the environment, including temperature, pressure and humidity.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Test Setup

• Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment Perform Testing
• Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data Data Processing
• After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown
• Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies Other
• Perform other duties as assigned

CORE REQUIREMENTS

Limited supervision; can perform recurring work independently. Able to complete advanced technical and mechanical procedures; able to perform assignments that are not standardized or prescribed Regular interaction with clients Able to troubleshot and rework complex tests Advanced interpretation and analysis of test results; regularly called upon to provide input on test results Advanced knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical principles, comprehensive knowledge of all potential aspects of safety; good knowledge of refrigeration/thermal systems Able to use all standard and complex Environmental equipment; able to accurately capture necessary data; basic MS Office skills; able to understand AC/DC circuits

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

HS Diploma or GED; AA or AS degree preferred 5+ Years of experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
