Environmental Technician -
Emergency Response & Remediation Location:
Denver Metro Area (including Boulder)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday (with potential on-call emergency response) Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Environmental Technician to support emergency response teams, fixed facility operations, and site remediation projects throughout the Denver metro area. This role involves hands-on hazardous materials work, environmental cleanup, and emergency spill response in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities Respond quickly to emergency spills and environmental cleanup situations Perform hazardous waste cleanup and site decontamination Decontaminate equipment, structures, and affected areas to remove hazardous or toxic substances Prepare hazardous waste for processing, transport, or disposal Support Emergency HazMat operations using specialized tools and equipment under supervision Assist with tasks such as lead paint removal and Firewatch support in industrial/plant environments Accurately document daily job activities, materials used, and equipment utilized via Daily Job Reports Follow all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines at all times Work Environment Field-based work at active job sites, including chemical plants and industrial facilities Work may involve exposure to hazardous materials and physically demanding conditions Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to strict safety protocols Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Active
HAZWOPER
certification (required) Reliable transportation Must be clean-shaven (respirator compliance requirement) Ability to pass a HazMat physical Willingness to work in hazardous environments and perform physically demanding tasks Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Equipment Requirements Must provide own steel-toed boots Company provides hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and respirator Preferred Experience Previous experience with hazardous materials handling or environmental cleanup Experience working in industrial or chemical plant environments Familiarity with remediation, emergency response, or environmental services What We're Looking For Dependable and punctual individuals Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction Team players who can also work independently when needed Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality work Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arvada, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
