Environmental Emergency Response Technician Job Description This role supports environmental emergency response teams, fixed facility operations, and site remediation projects across the Denver metro area. The technician performs hazardous waste cleanup, decontamination, and related field tasks under supervision while ensuring accurate documentation of all work performed. Responsibilities Support environmental emergency response teams on a variety of incidents throughout the Denver metro area. Assist with fixed facility operations and site remediation projects involving hazardous or toxic substances. Decontaminate equipment, tools, and work sites to remove hazardous or toxic substances in a safe and compliant manner. Prepare hazardous waste for processing, transport, or disposal in accordance with established procedures and regulations. Respond promptly to emergency spills and environmental cleanup situations, including after-hours events as needed. Perform hazardous waste cleanup activities using a variety of specialized equipment under supervision. Carry out general labor tasks related to environmental response, including setup, operation, and cleanup of work areas. Operate appropriate tools and equipment safely, including construction and material-handling equipment, as directed. Perform duties that may include fire watch and support for pharmaceutical or specialized environments when required by the project. Complete a detailed Daily Job Report documenting all work performed, materials used, and equipment deployed on each job. Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to

requirements. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure coordinated, efficient response and project completion. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent.

certification. Reliable transportation to travel to various job sites in the Denver metro area. Experience in construction or general labor roles. Ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Capability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and extended periods of standing or walking. Comfort working around hazardous materials while strictly following safety procedures. Basic equipment operation skills for tools and machinery used in construction and environmental cleanup. Strong attention to detail for accurate completion of Daily Job Reports and other documentation. Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely and dependable manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with environmental cleanup, hazardous waste handling, or remediation projects. Experience in general labor, construction, or equipment operation. Exposure to hazmat-related work environments. Experience in pharmaceutical or industrial settings. Experience performing fire watch duties. Strong work ethic and reliability in attending scheduled shifts and responding to call-outs. Work Environment The role primarily involves field-based work across the Denver metro area, often at outdoor or partially enclosed sites where environmental incidents, spills, or remediation projects occur. You will work with a wide range of specialized environmental response and decontamination equipment, as well as general construction tools and machinery. The schedule typically follows a weekday pattern (such as Monday through Friday), with the potential for irregular hours or on-call response to support 24/7 emergency operations. Work conditions may include exposure to varying weather, uneven terrain, and environments where hazardous or toxic substances are present. You will wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow strict safety protocols, including

standards, which may require respirators, protective suits, gloves, and other safety gear. The position involves physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and extended periods of standing or walking while maintaining a professional appearance consistent with safety requirements and field work expectations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boulder, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
