•This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,560 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.• Job Description We are currently recruiting an Engineering/Science intern to assist staff in the Stormwater Compliance Group in the Technical Services Division. This position will primarily support the Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination (IDDE) work group with performing routine inspections for permit compliance, assisting with in-stream stream sample collection, and data entry duties. This position may also assist with Lake Lanier water quality sample collection and laboratory analysis in collaboration with the Environmental Lab. Essential Duties Inspect stormwater structures and perform "dry weather screening" as assigned. Complete inspection reports with pictures to provide documentation of inspection. May assist field and office personnel in surface water sample collection, stream walks and investigative assignments Perform data entry Maintain and file records and documents Perform other duties of a similar nature or level Hourly Rate $20.36/hr •This position is a temporary career development opportunity with a duration of 1-year, subject to potential extension beyond the 1-year mark.•Minimum Qualifications Must have completed at least one year of college pursuing a degree in construction management, chemistry, biology, environmental science or a relate field; AND Available to work weekdays between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm for up to 20 hours per week; AND Valid Driver's License; AND Able to operate computers and applicable software including Microsoft Office, EARI ArcMap, maintenance tracking software(Lucity).
Physical Requirements Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to allergens such as pollen and dust, insects such as ants, wasps and yellow jackets, ticks, snakes and other similar wildlife. Working in inclement weather such as, heat, cold and rain.
