An Environmental Technician assists with testing and sampling or monitoring needed for environmental clean-up efforts or projects to mitigate environmental pollution. Assists environmental engineers or environmental scientists. Collects air, water or soil samples, operates field test equipment and conducts laboratory research. Coordinates work at sites with contaminated soil or water, or hazardous waste clean-up sites.

Job Description

Assists and supports the Science Lab Technicians in day to day operations and departmental projects. Assists with preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of science labs. Assists with taking inventory of supplies. Assists with maintaining and cleaning lab equipment. Assists with maintaining a neat and welcoming of the Lab. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Certification, Licensure:
Must be enrolled as student of Mid Michigan College.
Experience:
Experience in cleaning and maintenance of labs is a plus, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written format, with various constituencies including students, faculty, administrators, and community members.
