An Environmental Technician assists with testing and sampling or monitoring needed for environmental clean-up efforts or projects to mitigate environmental pollution. Assists environmental engineers or environmental scientists. Collects air, water or soil samples, operates field test equipment and conducts laboratory research. Coordinates work at sites with contaminated soil or water, or hazardous waste clean-up sites.
This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of feed and forage samples for testing and assists in scanning of samples on the Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR). This position oversees the samples being sent to Arcadia and ensures proper prepping of calibrated samples.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Identify and prepare samples for testing NIR Analysis Operate an electronic balance and feed grinders Reporting results Follow lab safety practices as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures Assisting customers Answer the telephone Receive payments from customers and send to Arcadia Assisting in other departments (mold and waters lab), as needed Perform regular schedule maintenance on equipment General cleaning of work area Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required Associates Degree (Agricultural or Science field), preferred Previous experience in agricultural field (1-2 years), preferred You must read the below statement before applying.
