Job Title:
Environmental Monitoring Technician Job Description This position is based in a cGMP compliant QC Microbiology Laboratory, supporting the manufacture of biological products. The role involves performing and supporting various functional aspects of the facility, such as environmental monitoring, water testing, and process gases testing. Responsibilities Perform environmental monitoring of a biological production facility according to written procedures, while fully gowned. Review EM data, analyze, and summarize data with guidance. Perform EM and utilities sampling and testing. Order laboratory supplies and maintain required inventory according to SOPs. Read and report microbiological test results. Maintain and ensure a safe laboratory environment. Write and technically interpret controlled documents and reports. Review data and initiate investigations. Interact with other departments to ensure correct scheduling and sample flow. Create Test Records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Write validation reports. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, preferably Biology. 0-1 years of experience in a related field. Experience with laboratory documentation and reports. Hands-on experience with aseptic techniques. Familiarity with microbial taxonomy and identification. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a fast-paced work environment. EM Experience or Micro experience from school or industry. Knowledge of cGMP and Environmental Monitoring. Work Environment The position involves 3 months of training in all areas of Environmental Monitoring, supporting GMP manufacturing activities. It is a full-time role from Monday to Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with weekend work every two months. Employees have the option to take Monday off following a weekend shift to balance the work week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Berkeley, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
