Job Description

Overview The Environmental Regulatory Technician is responsible for supporting environmental compliance activities across oil and gas operations. This position helps ensure company operations comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations by conducting inspections, maintaining environmental records, collecting field data, and assisting with regulatory reporting. The technician works closely with Operations, HSE, and Environmental teams to identify compliance concerns and support corrective actions. Responsibilities Conduct routine environmental inspections of production sites, compressor stations, tank batteries, and other field facilities. Monitor compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and company policies. Assist with air, water, waste, and spill prevention compliance programs. Collect environmental samples, field measurements, and operational data as required. Maintain accurate environmental records, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation. Assist with preparation and submission of environmental reports to regulatory agencies. Coordinate waste management activities, including proper storage, labeling, transportation, and disposal. Participate in spill response activities, investigations, and corrective action tracking. Support emissions monitoring programs and assist with LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) activities when applicable. Track environmental permits, renewals, inspections, and reporting deadlines. Work with operations personnel to identify environmental risks and recommend corrective actions. Assist during regulatory inspections and environmental audits. Stay current on applicable environmental regulations and company environmental procedures. Promote safe work practices and maintain compliance with all HSE requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred. 2+ years of environmental compliance experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry. Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, TCEQ, NMED, BLM, or other applicable regulatory agencies. Familiarity with environmental permits and reporting requirements. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to read maps, site drawings, and environmental documentation. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
