Environmental Technician

Environmental Technician in Murfreesboro, TN Job Description Join our team as an Environmental Technician where you will work around the landfill performing essential laborer duties such as moving material, checking and changing pumps, digging, inspecting, and using basic hand tools. Responsibilities Perform general labor tasks around the landfill. Move materials and perform inspections. Check and change pumps as needed. Utilize basic hand tools effectively. Engage in digging and remediation tasks. Operate heavy equipment as required. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of general laborer experience. Proficiency in using hand tools with at least 2 years of experience. Experience in construction, heavy equipment operation, farming, landfill, waste removal, and environmental fields. Knowledge in remediation and wastewater management. Ability to conduct repairs and maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working outdoors in various elements. Experience in construction, farming, or manual labor. Willingness to perform laborer duties. Why Work Here? Raises are offered based on performance, and there is an opportunity to travel to other sites with per diem included. Work Environment Work outdoors 100% of the time at a landfill, which is a dirty environment with an odor. The schedule rotates between Monday-Friday and Tuesday-Saturday every 2 months, with occasional weekends required. Shifts may extend beyond regular hours based on need, including on-call responsibilities. Weekend work is voluntary, with a sign-up sheet available. Expect to work 40-60 hours per week, with overtime opportunities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Murfreesboro, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
