Job Description

Under the direction of the Environmental Health Director, serves as support for the environmental health division staff at the Central Utah Health Department. This position is based in the Richfield office and includes both field and office responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This role requires a balanced mix of field data collection and administrative support, with specific tasks assigned based on evolving department needs. Field Duties Assist in the Central Utah Water Lab by running analysis on samples, reading and recording sample results. Collect water samples from swimming pools, lakes, drinking water systems, and other environmental samples for water quality or other analysis. Office Duties Assist environmental health staff by preparing documents and reports, organizing data files, and digitizing hard copy records to electronic formats as directed. Data entry of pool and drinking water samples. Utilize database programs to assist in monitoring and maintaining environmental health records. Answer questions from the public regarding environmental health programs. Work with staff members to provide program support for various environmental programs as directed. Participate in training, continuing education opportunities, and environmental health meetings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a High School Diploma. Must be skilled in basic computer programs and hardware used for digitizing and organizing records. Must be detail oriented and accurate with records.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass a criminal history background investigation. Must possess a valid Utah Driver License; out of state personnel are required to obtain a valid Utah Driver License within sixty days of hire date.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or stand for extended periods to collect environmental samples. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
