Job Description

Our Company Greene Environmental is a small, growing environmental consulting company based in Roanoke, VA. We are a specialized team focused on petroleum remediation, and we pride ourselves on being resourceful, adaptable, and dedicated to our clients. Unlike large corporate firms, we put the needs of our employees and clients ahead of profit margins. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and wants a long-term role growing alongside our team. The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and hard-working Environmental Technician to support our field operations. In this role, you aren't just a number—you are an essential part of our project success. You will work directly with Project Managers on a variety of industrial and environmental sites.
Your Responsibilities:
Field Operations:
Perform environmental monitoring, soil/water sampling, and site remediation tasks.
Technical Support:
Assist with site preparation, restoration, and the operation/maintenance of remediation systems.
Documentation:
Prepare technical reporting and mapping to document field findings.
Equipment Care:
Help track and maintain field equipment to ensure we're always ready for the next project. What We're Looking For We value people who are resourceful and skilled at solving problems independently.
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience (specifically with petroleum remediation is a plus).
Certifications:
OSHA 40-Hour
HAZWOPER
is a major plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Driver's License:
Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a significant plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 80 pounds and work comfortably in outdoor field conditions.
Communication:
Strong technical writing ability and a professional, friendly demeanor.
