Translation Scientist SME Position Status:

Contingent upon contract award. Position Summary Lead implementation-science and evidence-translation support that helps DNPAO programs and recipients select frameworks, understand context, address implementation barriers, and sustain and scale effective interventions. This role directly supports Tasks 5 and 20 by applying implementation-science frameworks such as RE-AIM, CFIR, PRISM, or EPIS to nutrition, physical activity, and obesity-prevention programs. The scientist will assess barriers and facilitators, guide implementation strategies, develop fidelity and sustainability tools, conduct rapid evidence reviews, mentor staff and recipients, facilitate learning collaboratives, and support scale-up and spread of effective interventions. Key Responsibilities Guide selection and application of implementation-science frameworks appropriate to program context and goals. Assess barriers, facilitators, readiness, adaptation, fidelity, sustainability, scale-up, and spread. Develop implementation strategies, logic models, driver diagrams, planning tools, and fidelity instruments. Conduct rapid evidence reviews and translate findings for practitioner audiences. Deliver training, coaching, mentorship, communities of practice, and strategic planning support. Develop case studies, briefs, presentations, publications, and implementation lessons learned.

Minimum Qualifications Education:

Master's degree.

Experience:

At least 8 years of experience in implementation science, dissemination and implementation research, evidence translation, or a closely related field, including practical application of established frameworks, mixed methods, implementation strategies, fidelity, adaptation, sustainability, and scale-up. Experience applying these approaches in nutrition, physical activity, obesity prevention, chronic disease, community, or public health settings is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, timely, and high-quality work in a multidisciplinary, deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, judgment, and client-service skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting CDC, HHS, another federal health agency, a public health recipient network, or a comparable mission-focused organization.
