Job Description

Our Nursing Facility is seeking a full-time Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist. Do you have a passion for teaching? Are you detail-oriented? If so, the Staff Development position may be a perfect fit for you! We are looking for a dynamic nurse with experience working in skilled nursing/long-term care to take on this unique position.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
THIS IS AN ON CALL POSITION
• On Call one weekend a month, and one day per week. Provide new employee orientation and in-service education. Coordinate pre-employment screenings/testing. Assist and conduct interviews for clinical positions Assess educational needs of center and provide education as needed Work to decrease the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community Maintain appropriate records documenting attendance at orientations, in-services and CNA training programs. Actively participate in the safety program for the facility. Plan in-service education programs for all employees in collaboration with respective department head staff Lead and coordinate a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevent goals Provide instruction to develop and improve overall quality of care Provide the Director of Nursing with monthly outlines of the planned educational programs and monthly infection control reporting Assist the Director of Nursing when necessary. Decreasing the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community. Lead and direct a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevention goals and objectives throughout the facility.
