Company Overview Decatur County Hospital (DCH) is a critical access hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services in Leon, Iowa. As part of a network committed to patient-centered care, DCH offers a wide range of medical specialties and outpatient services, supported by a team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Job Overview Decatur County Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Cardiac Rehabilitation, Employee Health, Infection Prevention, and Stress Testing programs. This unique role combines direct patient care, cardiac rehabilitation services, cardiac stress testing, employee wellness initiatives, infection prevention activities, and quality improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, clinically skilled professional who is passionate about improving patient outcomes, promoting employee health, and ensuring a safe healthcare environment.
Days/Hours:
Full-Time Monday - Friday 40 hours per week Responsibilities Coordinate and provide cardiac rehabilitation services, including patient assessments, exercise monitoring, education, and individualized care planning. Assist with and monitor cardiac stress testing procedures. Lead infection prevention and control activities, including surveillance, education, reporting, and policy development. Coordinate employee health functions, including vaccinations, screenings, exposure follow-up, and compliance tracking. Support Chest Pain Accreditation requirements and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with providers, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Requirements Current, unrestricted Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years strongly preferred . Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Stress Testing experience required; 3+ years strongly preferred . Current BLS and ACLS certification, or ability to obtain within three months of hire. Experience with EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring. APIC Infection Prevention certification preferred or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire. Strong communication, critical thinking, organizational, and patient education skills. Why Join Decatur County Hospital?
