Posting Details Job Title Infection Prevention Technician/UKHC Requisition Number RE54944 Working Title Infection Prevention Technician Department Name H4018: CH/GS Hospital Administration Work Location Lexington, KY Grade Level 05 Salary Range $15.00-22.60/hour Type of Position Staff Position Time Status Full-Time Required Education HS Click here for more information about equivalencies: https://hr.uky.edu/employment/working-uk/equivalencies Required Related Experience 1 yr Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements The physical requirements of this position include: occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; occasional standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; intermittent sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); occasional exposure to radiation, and blood borne/airborne pathogens. Shift Must be able to work days, evenings, and nights; weekends and holidays required per departmental needs. Job Summary The Infection Prevention Technician will directly observe Enterprise staff and patient care providers, to evaluate the completion of effective hand hygiene and proper use of personal protection equipment. This position will also be required to help review and approve infection control risk assessments during construction activities. This position will require the collection of data, given to the department for analysis. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation and record keeping skills, and must be able to work independently. This position must be able to use job related equipment (tablet, phone, App.); and also have good time management skills. This position must participate in Infection Prevention and Control quality improvement initiatives, and will assist in hand hygiene promotional activities. / Abilities The ideal candidate will be compassionate, honest, trustworthy, and have a strong work ethic. Must enjoy working in a team and also have the ability to take direction and communicate effectively with staff, patient care providers, and department leaders. In addition, must also be confident and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Candidate will also need strong organizational, prioritization, basic computer navigation skills and a working knowledge of general medical terminology. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Hospital experience preferred. (High School diploma/GED required.)
