Infection Preventionist / Staff Educator Zenith Healthcare - 3.3 Saugus, MA Job Details Full-time $90,000 - $120,000 a year 2 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Regulatory compliance Analytics Full Job Description The Infection Preventionist / Staff Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the facility's infection prevention and control program and coordinating staff education and competency programs in accordance with federal regulations, Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements and facility policies.
Responsibilities:
Lead the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, DPH, and other regulatory requirements. Conduct infection surveillance, audits, outbreak investigations, and reporting; analyze data and implement quality improvement initiatives. Oversee antibiotic stewardship and support employee and resident immunization programs. Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation, mandatory education, competency validation, and ongoing staff training programs. Assess organizational training needs and create educational materials, learning activities, and competency evaluations. Maintain employee education records and ensure compliance with required training and certifications. Collaborate with department leaders to promote regulatory compliance, infection prevention best practices, and staff development. Serve as a resource to staff regarding infection prevention, infection control policies, and clinical education. Participate in QAPI activities and provide reports and recommendations to facility leadership. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current RN or LPN license in Massachusetts. Experience in long-term care, infection prevention, staff education, or clinical leadership. Knowledge of infection prevention standards, regulatory requirements, and adult learning principles. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and training skills. Infection Prevention certification (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain.
