The Center of Safe and Healthy Communities (CSHC) aim to reduce preventable injuries, violence, and health disparities by addressing root causes through evidence-based, community-driven strategies. We focus on fostering environments where individuals and families can thrive by promoting equity, resilience, and public health. CSHC works collaboratively with partners to implement community-driven solutions that enhance safety, well-being, and long-term public health outcomes. Why does the job exist? This position supports MCH surveillance systems development, data management and analysis. This position will manage the Help Us Grow Strong Study (HUGS) and the development of new survey supplements or projects identified through the Title V MCH Block Grant and the State Maternal Health Innovation Program. The position will support additional analysis and evaluation for a variety of MCH initiatives. How does it get done?
  • Develop and refine survey data collection systems managed in REDCap or similar platforms
  • Clean data and prepare data sets for analysis
  • Work with subject matter experts and public health leadership to develop new data collection projects that address key MCH priorities
  • Analyze, summarize, and prepare reports or presentations on findings from the MCH surveillance Who are the customers?

  • Health providers and policy makers in NM Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has professional experience with statistical analysis, database management, data cleaning and evaluation.
The strongest candidates will have public health training, experience with data visualization and complex survey analysis. Strong communication skills, ability to prioritize and manage complex projects, and scientific writing skills will be prioritized. Minimum Qualification Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Sciences, Social Sciences, or Statistics and one (1) year in Public Health to include data analysis and linking methodology. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling seven (7) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certification from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
