Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled RN/ADON/Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines advanced nursing responsibilities with infection prevention and control expertise, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to infection prevention, a strong foundation in nursing practices, and leadership capabilities to foster a culture of safety and compliance. Duties Lead infection prevention initiatives by developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies aligned with CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, and long-term care regulations Conduct comprehensive patient observations, monitor for infectious diseases, and review medical records to ensure compliance with health regulation policies Oversee data collection, management, and analysis related to infection rates, disease outbreaks, and care plans to support quality improvement efforts Educate staff on aseptic techniques, microbiology principles, disease prevention policies, and epidemiology best practices to promote a culture of safety Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in medical records while ensuring HIPAA compliance and proper medical terminology usage Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans addressing infectious diseases and promote infection control regulations across all departments Lead team training sessions on infection control regulations, microbiology updates, and public health protocols to enhance staff knowledge and responsiveness Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification; additional certifications in infection prevention preferred (Can assist with getting this) Extensive experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or Level I/II trauma centers; long-term care or assisted living experience is highly desirable Strong knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control regulations including CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, and long-term care regulations Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or projects within healthcare environments Familiarity with data management systems, MDS (Minimum Data Set), medical terminology, and medical records documentation review In-depth understanding of physiology, anatomy, microbiology, epidemiology, disease prevention policies, and public health principles Ability to monitor patient conditions closely while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Knowledge of health regulation policies such as HIPAA compliance and long-term care regulations; experience with disease outbreak management is a plus Join us in fostering a safe environment where exemplary nursing care meets rigorous infection prevention standards.
