Must be willing to obtain certification within 2 years of hire. Certification requires a degree in healthcare - such as nursing, public health, biology, or related. Hospital experience is strongly preferred
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for duties related to Stillwater Medical Center Authority (SMCA) organizational Infection Prevention and Control program, which is designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. Supports high quality, safe care by ensuring organizational systems and processes comply with all regulatory requirements. Ensures that the organization s policies, guidelines, and procedures are maintained and current. .QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor s degree in healthcare or related field. Registered Nurse preferred. Certified in Infection Control or eligible for certification within the first 2 years. Must be willing to drive to off-site locations, such as other SMCA facilities and clinics. Previous experience in infection prevention and control is strongly preferred. Must have knowledge base of Microsoft Excel, Word, and email systems. Excellent communication, writing, organizational and presentation skills. Demonstrates independent judgement, autonomy and initiative in leadership skills, time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects/functions in a busy work environment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections. Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.Benefits
