Job Description

Position Title Director Infection Prevention Job Description Purpose & Scope:
The Director of Infection Prevention (IP) is responsible for leading, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of infection prevention and control within VHC Health. The individual in this position is responsible for the health and safety of patients, staff, providers, contractors and visitors regarding the identification and / or prevention of nosocomial infections and exposure to communicable diseases, through utilization of OSHA standards and CDC guidelines. This role involves developing policies, educating staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards to minimize the risk of infection. The Director will work collaboratively with various departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in infection control practices. The Director will manage staff within the IP Department.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field is required. Master's in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field is preferred. Graduate of an Accredited Medical School or an Accredited Physician Assistant program preferred.
Experience:
5 years Infection Prevention required; and, 3 years of management experience required; and 2 years Aseptic Technique preferred; and, 2 years Data Analytics Preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) Preferred Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions Preferred Compact State Licensure in Nursing. Qualifications Strong knowledge of infection control principles, practices, and regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
