Job Description

Lab Intern - Vegetable Quality (R D) 📍 Woodland, CA | Short-Term Internship (Approx. 2 Months with Potential to Extend) Kickstart your career in plant science and agricultural research with a hands-on lab internship in a cutting-edge R D environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain real-world experience working with fresh produce, analytical tools, and data systems that support innovation in agriculture. You'll join a collaborative lab team and contribute directly to research that helps improve vegetable quality—while building valuable technical skills that can launch your career. What You'll Do Prepare and process vegetable samples (watermelon, tomatoes, onions, and more) for analysis Accurately enter and manage data in LIMS and other systems Support lab operations by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and inventory Label samples, reagents, and equipment to ensure proper tracking Assist with analytical tasks including pipetting, solvent preparation, and equipment use Help collect and record quantitative data on fruit and vegetable characteristics Properly manage and dispose of laboratory waste What You Bring Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Food Science, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field 1-2 years of experience in a lab, research, or food-handling environment (academic experience counts!) Comfort working with computers for data entry (LIMS, Excel, or similar tools) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Nice to Have Exposure to plant science, agriculture, or analytical chemistry Interest in developing lab skills such as HPLC or GC-MS Passion for working with food, produce, or agricultural research What to

Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Work alongside a team of ~10 lab professionals in a collaborative environment Hands-on experience with real-world R D processes and lab operations Opportunity to extend the internship or explore additional roles based on performance Why This Internship? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
